Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the state, bringing powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Destruction
Residents reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the state, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both regions.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This alert comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
